Crane kit takes STEM learning to greater heights
Atlantic Technological University MakerSpace, which is supported by the Higher Education 4.0 Project, is delighted to announce a second digitally fabricated kit for use in STEM workshops for TY students in secondary schools.
This simple crane kit uses cardboard tubes and laser cut joints along with the motor from a lab bit board.
ATU MakerSpace Facilitator Leo Scarff says: “It’s super enjoyable to work on these kits alongside Stuart Lawn from @fablabmh as part of the outreach STEM program for the MakerSpace at @atusligo.ie.
“We love the mix of engineering principles, design, assembly, electronics and programming which encourage TY students to think about STEM third-level courses.”
