A project called Rosetta Hub has developed a cloud solution for computer science labs where students can access software normally only available on-campus. Remote laboratories can allow users to remotely control equipment in a lab to perform experiments and laboratory tasks over the Internet without being near the actual equipment. Other forms of remote labs can use virtual reality tools and technologies to create realistic virtual environments as mirror images of the physical environment. Finally, others use gaming engines to create an augmented reality experience of a lab experiment.
