MyCareerPath Higher Education 4.0

Bridie Killoran to present on ATU’s comprehensive online resource

Atlantic Technological University Higher Education 4.0 Career and Learning Pathways Manager, Bridie Killoran, is to present on MyCareerPath at the International Network of Employers and University Careers Services (INEUCS) Webinar tomorrow, Thursday evening (October 31).

The theme of the webinar is: ‘How can Ireland’s National Strategic Framework for Lifelong Guidance transform the future of Employability and Talent Development in Higher Education’.

Along with Bridie, it includes insights from Dr Paul Redmond, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement, University of Liverpool; Dr Ciarán Dunne, Transversal Skills Director, Dublin City University; Emma Goode, MicroCreds Project Lead, University of Galway; and Emma Kinsella, Head of the Skills Policy and Enterprise Engagement Unit, Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.

This is part of an unique series of online webinars, which are being organised by the International Network of Employers and University Careers Services (INEUCS), a collaborative, not-for-profit venture brought together by the Global Career Services Summit.

Participants to the webinars include the world’s leading employer and careers advisory associations from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States.

The network constitutes the largest graduate recruitment and advisory network in the world and aims to share perspectives on the global marketplace for collegiate graduates and their intended destinations into the labour market.

Bridie Killoran will focus on access to guidance via her project – MyCareerPath, another example of how supporting career mobility for individuals in the workforce through guidance provision (MyCareerPath) can bring learners back into Higher Education to upskill and retrain, thereby enabling career mobility of the workforce.

ATU’s MyCareerPath serves as a comprehensive online resource designed to enhance career development for individuals in the workplace, returners to education, and entrepreneurs. Its primary purposes include Personalised Career Development, Access to Resources, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Upskilling Opportunities.

As ATU Higher Education 4.0 Career and Learning Pathways Manager, Bridie is responsible for the various career and learning pathways projects on Theme I, including the online career guidance service, MyCareerPath.

She boasts over 18 years’ experience of managing, developing and delivering excellent outcomes for the careers advisory and guidance services in higher education and has a thorough understanding of national and international labour market skills and knowledge requirements sought by employers.

She is also experienced in the design and development of career learning pathways, including employability frameworks and RPL to help graduates and employees achieve career success and sustainable lifelong employability.

Her academic achievements include a MSc in Careers Guidance at University of Ulster); Diploma in Careers Guidance in Higher Education from University of Reading; and a B.Sc. (Management) from Trinity College Dublin and Dublin Institute of Technology.
